REVIEWS

In the depths of the music mecca that is Kansas City comes a singer songwriter who plays rock music like it was a page out of the history book. KC has a diverse music scene probably more noticed for the blues. Alisa Jefferson plays no blues on this record, and that’s a good thing because sakes alive this woman can rock. In the current days where mainstream music seems boring, uncomplicated and formulaic, hearing this album “Tell Me” by Alisa Jefferson reminds one that creative music is still alive. This is the kind of rock record with heavy influences from the past, but so artistically and amazingly produced for 2021. If I traveled into a time machine to 1978, and I pulled this record from the shelf, I would be convinced it would belong there just as well. The album plays like a very cohesive record from start to finish. Clever crafted lyrics, memorable melodies, and powerhouse vocals that carry the record and gives it wings. This is one of those records where the repeat plays will just keep getting better and better, because there is so much packed into the grooves it will take you the time to unpack it all. To me any record where you look forward to hearing it again is a keeper. Alisa Jefferson and her album “Tell Me” A must have on your record shelf. I give it as high of a ratings as any album I have listened cover to cover this year. Keep her on your radar, and if she comes to your town go and see her live!!” - Jon Sexauer

Driven by deep personal experiences, Jefferson is both inspiring and empowering through her songwriting. It's easier for some to keep their hearts under lock and key, but she puts everything out in the open, and creates that perfect rock blend, both lyrically and musically, combining her heart with the ever-burning soul of rock 'n roll. She's truly devoted to her craft.” - Shane Hatfield

Rock and roll is alive and well in the songs penned by Alisa Jefferson for her new solo project. I personally relate to the story of waiting for that special someone with whom to spend the rest of your days in "Million Ways." It's music for grown ups; Alisa's vocals are distinctly her own yet harken back to the genre's greats like Ann Wilson and Grace Slick.” - Diana Griffin Ennis
